These terms govern use of TripBuddyHub at tripbuddyhub.com. By creating an account you agree to them. Have a lawyer review this draft before a public launch.
1. Who may join
You must be at least 18 years old. We ask for a date of birth and may require a government ID and selfie check through Stripe Identity. We may close accounts we believe are under 18.
2. What this service is
TripBuddyHub helps adults find other adults who want company on a trip and who may agree, between themselves, how to split travel costs. It is not a dating service. It is not an escort, companion-for-hire, or "rent a friend" service.
You may not offer, request, or accept payment for companionship, time, a relationship, or sexual services. You may not advertise prostitution or sex work. Accounts that do this are removed. Members never pay each other through TripBuddyHub. The only payment the site takes is the membership fee.
3. Membership and automatic renewal
Browsing and posting trips are free. Sending and reading messages requires a paid membership. Before you pay, we show the price in US dollars, the billing period, that the plan renews automatically until you cancel, and how to cancel. You must check a box agreeing to those terms.
Monthly membership is $9.99 USD per month. Yearly membership is $79.00 USD per year. Local currency figures on the site are estimates. Your card is billed in US dollars through Stripe. You can cancel online at the cancellation page with no fee. Access continues until the end of the period already paid. We email a renewal reminder before the next charge: about 3 days before a monthly renewal and about 30 days before a yearly renewal.
4. Your safety and trip costs
You are responsible for your own safety, travel documents, and money. Meet in public, video-call first, and share plans with someone you trust. Any cost split is a private agreement between travelers. Use the cost-split template if you want it in writing. TripBuddyHub is not a party to that agreement and does not hold funds, tickets, or deposits for trips.
5. Content and conduct
You may not harass, threaten, scam, or discriminate. Photos and text must be non-sexual. We may hide profiles after repeated reports and remove accounts that break these terms. You can block another member and report them. A person reviews the moderation queue.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give TripBuddyHub permission to host and display it so the service can run. You can delete your account from the account page.
7. Copyright
If you believe content infringes your copyright, email dmca@tripbuddyhub.com with the work, the URL, your contact details, a good-faith statement, and your signature. We may remove the material and, where appropriate, the account.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as available. We do not guarantee that any member is who they say they are, that a trip will happen, or that an ID check catches every false profile. To the extent the law allows, TripBuddyHub is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for disputes between members. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only as far as they legally can.
9. Disputes
Please email legal@tripbuddyhub.com first. If we cannot resolve a dispute, you and TripBuddyHub agree to binding individual arbitration and waive class actions, except where the law forbids that waiver. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of creating your account by emailing legal@tripbuddyhub.com with the subject "Arbitration opt-out". Either party may still use small-claims court.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date on this page. Continued use after the update means you accept the new terms. Contact legal@tripbuddyhub.com.
